My passion for agriculture began on our family ranch in southeastern Arizona. My father was focused on providing an agricultural structured life for his family, and my mother was willing to try anything new and exciting. Through experiences of raising livestock, growing plants, and orchards, and avid participation in 4-H, the seeds of my passion for agriculture were planted and nurtured!
My involvement in agriculture, combined with my experiences in teaching and mentoring, has brought me to where I am today. Putting my passions to work and igniting a spark of self sufficiency in others, through agriculture. I desire to share agriculture awareness and plant the seeds of passion in impressionable minds, and that I might impact and to nurture imagination, creativity, knowledge, and values in others.
I am excited to be an intern with Ag Advantage sharing my passion for horses and agriculture.
Once my journey in agriculture began, there was no going back. Through FFA and riding lessons I have had the opportunities to learn Equine Science & Horsemanship, and experienced raising livestock. I have raised multiple market animals and competed in livestock shows. I have developed a growing passion for horsemanship and a great love for performance horses.
I am currently going to school at University Nevada Reno, to grow my knowledge in agriculture and animal sciences. My goals in the agriculture industry are to share my passion for agriculture to those who don't know its importance, and to broaden my own knowledge and skills in order to effectively advocate for agriculture.
I am a sophomore at the University of Nevada, Reno, studying to become an Agricultural Educator. Originally from the beautiful Carson Valley, I am an avid goat and poultry producer, having exhibited show quality poultry and livestock from a young age. I am a proud Douglas High School alumni, member of the Nevada Farm Bureau's Young Farmers and Ranchers, and recently retired Nevada FFA State President. My service to my local community in Carson Valley and to the state of Nevada through contributions in agriculture inspired me to continue my education in Agricultural Education, where I hope to inspire future generations of urban and rural agriculturalists who want to take on the challenge of feeding a growing world.
